Seven Forest Suites, built in 2024, set directly beside the kennel among the pines. The suites are heavily insulated — you will sleep well. In the morning, the dogs are the first thing you see when you open the door. This is not a hotel that happens to offer dog sledding. It is a racing kennel that built places to sleep.
Each suite is a freestanding A-frame built from solid cross-laminated timber. The form draws on the Sámi lavvu — low, grounded, made to belong to the landscape. Floor-to-ceiling windows. A king-size bed that faces the forest. Each suite is fully private with its own entrance and bathroom.
The Northern Lights are visible from your suite on clear nights. Alta sits at one of the best latitudes on earth for aurora viewing — the season runs September through March. There is no guarantee on any given night. The aurora is not a performance. That is also the point.
Breakfast is served in the restored post-war barn each morning — 08:30 to 10:00. The sauna, ice bath, and outdoor jacuzzi are available for all overnight guests, bookable in one-hour sessions. Towels, bathrobes, and slippers included.
The snow arrives in November. The trails open in December. January and February are the darkest months — and the best for Northern Lights. April brings the returning light with still-deep snow. The season ends when the trails do.
Two nights is the minimum. Not a commercial rule — the place takes a full day to settle into. One night is not enough to understand what you have come to.
A Forest Suite pairs naturally with any of our dog sled tours or other outdoor activities. We will help you build a stay with the right balance — time on the trail and time to recover. If you are not sure where to start, write to us.

Each suite is fully private — its own entrance, its own bathroom, its own view. You may pass another guest on the path between the suites and the barn. Your cabin is yours alone.
