Holmen Husky is a small family business that offer guests from all over the world nature-based experiences all year round through dog carting/sledding, northern light chases, extraordinary overnight stays and local food. Holmen Husky had more guests than ever before covid-19 shut down most of the traffic. Since then the place have been run by a small team of people were all the dogs have been kept happy and healthy. During the pandemic the place have been optimizing for the future with a strong belief that the place will thrive post covid-19.

A passion for nature and sled dogs sit at Holmen Husky’s heart, Eirik Nilsen the founder and owner has finished Finnmarkslopet 14 times over the years and won it 3 times, his first was completed back in 1988. In addition to racing Eirik have led over 50 week trips and more shorter trips with guests from all over the world throughout the years. Today Holmen is managed by Brage (Eirik’s son) who in 2020 chose to follow in his parents footsteps.

Holmen Husky is now looking to build a new competitive team of sled-dogs and strive for making even greater guest experiences both in nature and with animals. In this context we are now looking for someone who wants to take on the main responsibility for 100 Alaskan huskies and the guides who work with them.


  • Husky pack leader and caretaker.
  • Work as the General Manager’s "right hand" with the further development of Holmen as a competition and tourist kennel.
  • Main responsibility for the kennel - this implies an overview of approx. 100 Alaskan huskies wellness and development together with a team of guides.
  • Planning and preparation of guide teams and dog teams for guests and training schedules.
  • Help and assist inexperienced team members on how to handle the dogs in general.
  • Guiding guests on short and longer dog sled tours.
  • Get acquainted with the company's booking system.
